A few weeks ago I read an article about the crime rates in big metropols. In New York only the crime rates has doubled in housebreaking because of heavy usage of Internet social media sites. It was in the news only and I wasn’t so interested on the article but then… After a few days I met one of my good friends online while using MSN. The users of MSN knows that you can append a message in your status bar. And my friend just installed a plugin ( a tiny software) for MSN that tells all his buddy-list about where is he now by using GPS (Global Positioning Sysytem) technology. For interested visitors the applicaiton is GPSed and can be downloaded freely. It is done for good for sure but then I realized the article about crime rates and I figured out how this can be done so easily
Internet is used by many people now for communication and socializing. The user base of some social media sites like facebook is over the whole US population! This tremendous popularity also attracts cyber ciriminals
